A New Haven man was charged with possession of child pornography April 15 when city police arrested him on a warrant.
According to an arrest report, in March police received a cyber tip regarding child pornography being transmitted on the Internet. An investigation led to Gschlecht as a suspect.
Investigators secured an arrest warrant for Gschlecht and a recreational vehicle belonging to him. On April 15, police located Gschlecht in his recreational vehicle parked in a Saw Mill Road parking lot in West Haven.
Police executed a search warrant on Gschlecht’s recreational vehicle, which led to the seizure of computers and other electronic devices related to the investigation. Gschlecht is currently listed on the Connecticut sex offender registry, police said.
Gschlecht was charged with possession of child pornography in the third degree and held on $50,000 bond.
