Joseph K. Boncek, age 85, longtime resident of Milford entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at CT Hospice in Branford.
Born in Bridgeport on November 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Ludwik and Katherine Barszez Boncek.
Prior to his retirement, he was a life insurance agent for John Hancock for over 30 years. A devoted parishioner of St. Agnes Church, he also sang in the choir and served on the Board of Catholic Family Services.
An avid golfer, Joe enjoyed being outdoors bird watching and loved going to tag sales. He was a member of the Milford Elks and was a participant in the Branford swimming group.
Loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his cherished son, Joel (Andrea) Boncek; grandchildren, Joseph A. Boncek, Lauren (Andrew) Polhemus, Thomas (Jessica) McLoughlin and Patrick McLoughlin; great grandchild, Lily McLoughlin ; his former wife, Irene “Sunny” Boncek and many other loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Jody Boncek Chittem and siblings, Sophia Klein, Edward Boncek and Ludwik Boncek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 11:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., Milford, CT 06460. Interment to follow at King’s Highway Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Monday, April 14th from 4 to 8 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. 06460.
