The Foran High wrestling team built up a 39-9 lead on Fairfield Prep and then held on through a surge in the middle weight by the Jesuits to win 39-36 on Dec. 23.
Posting victories for coach Frank Peters’ Lions (2-0) were Beau Garcia (54-second pin at 160), Noah Hubler (3:57 pin at 170), Cristian Woodford (5:08 pin at 182), Zach Hubler (1:33 pin at 195), Ben Croll (2:43 pin at 220), Gino Esposito (6-2 decision at 106) and Jacob Pouliot (32-second pin at 113).
