The Foran High boys team placed ninth at the Southern Connecticut Conference cross country championships held at the 5K course at Hammonasset State Park in Madison on Oct. 22.
Amity of Woodbridge (46) repeated as SCC champs. Fairfield Prep (57) was followed by Guilford (105), Cheshire (115) and Shelton (140).
Jack Ardey was 13th (16:49), Kevin Preneta 43rd (17:47), Ryan Griffith 52nd (17:59) and Mark Fitzpatrick 59th (18:05). Ethan Jorgensen was 81st (19:06), Nathan Garofano 83td (19:10) and Matthew Flores 118th (20:43).
The Foran girls team took 12th. Amity (82) won the title followed by Cheshire (104), Mercy of Middletown (108), Guilford (121) and Daniel Hand of Madison (122).
Lily Stiffler was 19th (20:53), Jenna French 49th (22:27) and Hannah Pouliot 62nd (22:56). Samantha Inthapanhya was 67th (23:06), Emma Cote was 68th (23:07), Maggie Cummings 70th (23:17) and Erin Dillman 106th (25:36).
