This Saturday, HAN Radio is your home for all of the state championship action from West Haven. At 10:30 a.m., the Darien Blue Wave and the New Canaan Rams renew acquaintances as they battle for the Class L-Large Division state title. The Wave defeated their rivals on Thanksgiving, 28-21 in overtime to win the FCIAC Championship.
At 2:30, the Shelton Gaels play in the final for the first time since 2007, as they take on their SCC foes, the Xavier Falcons. The teams met on Nov. 7 with the Gaels prevailing, 28-20.
On hand for all of the action will be Rob Adams and Chris Erway, with John Kovach and Paul Silverfarb on the sidelines.
We will also keep an eye on each of the other state championship games, with Mike Suppe reporting on Shelton-Xavier and Bill Bloxsom reporting on Ansonia High-Valley Regional/Old Lyme for the Class S Large-Division title and St. Joseph-Ledyard for the Class-Small Divison crown.
