Police say several massage establishments fail recent inspection

In June 2013 members of the Milford Police Department made contact with Massage Establishments in the City of Milford and provided the owners /representatives with a letter generated by the Chief of Police informing them of the new laws and regulations. The letter was accompanied by a copy of Public Act No. 12- 64.

On August 19, the Milford Police Department Detective Division in collaboration with the City of Milford Health Department and a representative of the Connecticut State Police, conducted a joint compliance operation of massage establishments and massage therapists.

On August 19, 2013 six massage establishments were visited:
Ginko Beauty Spa, 554 Boston Post Road, was found to have several violations and the business was closed.
Body Relax Palace, 365 New Have Ave., was found to have several violations and was closed.
Kung-Fu Massage, 1201 Boston Post Rd, was found to have several violations and was closed.
Great Massage, 365 Boston Post Rd, was found to have several violations and was closed.
Merritt Massage, 465 Bridgeport Av, had minor violations, however, it remains open.
VIP Spa was closed for business. A representative of the business stated that they have been closed for about two weeks.
