A Milford man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he was found asleep behind the wheel of his car at 1:41 p.m.
Police said that Ralph Williams, 52, of Platt Street in Milford was charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to obey a traffic control signal and driving without a license.
According to police, Williams’ car was running but was stopped at the intersection of New Haven Avenue and Gulf Street. Cars were driving around Williams’ car when police responded to the scene. They said Williams was slumped over the steering wheel, and a passenger in his car was also unresponsive. The passenger was taken to Milford Hospital for evaluation but police said she was okay.
Bond for Williams was set at $500. Police said that during his arrest, Williams pushed a police officer.
