The Foran High boys lacrosse team lost to New Fairfield, 16-6, in the first round of the Class M state tournament in Milford on June 4.
Coach Brian Adkins’ sixth-seeded Lions finished at 11-6. New Fairfield, the 11th seed, improved to 10-6 and will play at No. 3 New Canaan (14-3) in the second round on Saturday, June 7.
Zach White scored three goal for Foran, who trailed the Rebels 4-1 after one period, 7-2 at the half and 11-6 after three.
Alex Eager, Drew Perani and Jonathan DePascale had one goal each.
Will Vitelli had three assists and Perani had two. Josh Teller stopped 12 shots, as New Fairfield won the shots on goal battle 45-28.
