Police confirm shooting; two men feared dead

Milford Police issued a statement just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4 confirming reports of a double shooting at 16 Midway Avenue earlier in the day.

The statement reads as follows:

The Milford Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting incident that occurred at 16 Midway Avenue, Milford on June 4, 2014 at approximately 12:46 p.m. This is an incident isolated to this residence and all involved parties are accounted for at this time.

As a precaution, police effected a lockdown at Jonathan Law High School with the School Resource Officer and other resources during the incident due to the proximity to the incident. The school lockdown has been released and bus traffic will be diverted from the area.

As the investigation continues, Milford Point Road (Meadows End Road) will be closed between Landsdale Avenue and Meadowside Road until further notice.

In addition to the police statement, WTNH is reporting that two men were dead as a result of the incident.

Police expect to release further details.
