The Downtown Milford Business Association recently presented two local non-profit organizations with proceeds raised during the popular annual Wine Trail event. The Literacy Center of Milford and The Boys & Girls Club each received a $3,000 donation.

According to Literacy Center of Milford’s Director Tami Jackson, “We can’t thank the DMBA enough for this extremely generous donation from their Downtown Wine Trail held this past fall. We are so appreciative of the confidence they have in our organization and all the lives we touch through our literacy programs.”

Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Megan Altomare said, “The Boys & Girls Club of Milford was extremely grateful to be chosen as a partner in Downtown Milford Business Association’s Wine Trail event. It was a tremendous fundraiser that brings a great element to the already amazing downtown area. The monies raised are going to greatly impact our budget and allow us to offer so much more to our members.”

At a regular monthly member meeting, ceremonial big checks — along with the real thing — were presented to the receiving organizations by members of the Downtown Milford Business Association’s executive board.

The Downtown Milford Business Association’s vision and mission is to bring attention to downtown.

The association’s membership consists of over 100 businesses including retail, professional services, and restaurants. For more information visit downtownmilfordct.org.
