Janet Allanbrook Mead, age 93, beloved widow of Elbert F. Mead joined him in heaven on March 11, 2014.
Daughter of Walter and Ellen Allanbrook, she was born on September 21, 1920 in Boston, Ma.
A Milford resident for more than 60 years, she retired from her position as bookkeeper for the Milford Public Library in 1982. She served many years as banker of Pyremus Temple #82 Daughters of the Nile.
Upon retirement, she pursued her many talents and passions, including cooking, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, sewing, painting and wood carving.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Richard Mead of Milford; her daughter Caroline Mead Walls and husband Stuart; grandchildren David Mead and wife Janet, Sarah Walls Wormsley and husband Steven, Taylor Walls and great-grandchildren Jacob Mead, Leigha and Elijah Wormsley.
She was predeceased by her sister, Edith Allanbrook, her grandson Christopher Mead and nephews Alan and John Mead.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, March 17th at 11:00 am at the Cody-White Funeral home, 107 Broad ST., Milford, CT 06460. Committal to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
