Foran improves to 19-6

The Foran High wrestling team won four matches at the Hastings Dual on Saturday, when coach Frank Peters’ Lions improved to 19-6.
Total team points determined placing in the tournament. Platt was first, Foran took second place among the seven teams that competed. Each team wrestled four matches.
Foran defeated Hall of West Hartford, 51-24, East Lyme, 58-14, Newington, 42-30, and lost to New Britain on criteria (most matches won), 31-30.
Beay Garcia (160), Zach Hubler (195), Luke Edmondson (heavyweight), Jubilee Witte (132) and Patrick Fitzgerald had pins in the win over Hall High. Noah Hubler (170), Cristian Woodford (182) and Gino Esposito (106) earned decisions.
Versus East Lyme, Ben Croll (220), Esposito, Kevin Kwalek (113), and Rich Kratzer (152) recorded falls. Zach Hubler won by technical fall, Woodford, and Fitzgerald by decision.
Zach Hubler, Croll and Fitzgerald had pins against Newington, with Esposito, Witte,, Ray DeWitt and Garcia posting decisions.
Edmondon (decision), Esposito (pin), Kwalek (pin), Kratzer (pin), Garcia (pin) and Zach Hubler (decision) had wins in the New Britain match.
