Sarah Scionti has been named the interim director of The Academy.
Scionti is currently the special education transition coordinator in Milford, a program that she developed a number of years ago. Because the program is located at The Academy, Scionti regularly interfaces with Annaliese Spaziano, the current director of The Academy, as well as The Academy staff and students.
“Her work in special education coupled with her having developed strong relationships with many community members, businesses and other organizations in Milford will serve her well in leading The Academy,” School Supt. Dr. Elizabeth Feser said in announcing the appointment. “Sarah sets high expectations for both students and staff. She is committed to sustaining the culture, goals and learning initiatives of The Academy.”
Scionti will serve as interim director until the end of the 2015-16 school year. School officials are in the process of hiring a replacement for Scionti for the transition program.
In May administrators will begin the process of hiring a permanent Academy director, to start on July 1, 2016.
