The Foran High girls soccer team defeated Wilbur Cross, 2-1, in New Haven on Friday.
Cassie Zak and Natalie Henry had the goals for coach Casey Blake’s Lions.
Henry had an assist on Zak’s goal.
Maddie Mitchell had two saves for Foran in the season opener for both teams.
Jada McAulay scored for WC to give the Governors a 1-0 halftime lead.
Kayla Daniels had 17 saves.
