Reenactors will bring to life the stories of some of the “residents” in the Old Milford Cemetery during the Milford Historical Society’s Saturday, Oct. 24 tour of the town’s oldest formal burial ground that was established in 1676.

This year there will be some “new” stories at different graves.

Participants are asked to gather in the DAR parking lot, 55 Prospect Street, by 12:45 p.m. for a 1 p.m. tour.

Tickets go on sale after Oct. 1 at the Society, 34 High Street, on weekends, 1 to 4 p.m. through Oct. 11. The cost is $5 for adults – no charge for children 12 and younger when accompanied by adults. Tickets will also be available from the Canvas Patch, 5 River Street.

Tickets will also be sold at the parking lot on the day of the tour. For more information, call (203) 877-1851.

Woodmont walking tour

The Milford Historical Society will sponsor its third walking tour of the Borough of Woodmont Saturday, Oct. 31. Participants are asked to meet in the parking lot of the Milford Bank, 259 Merwin Ave., corner of New Haven Ave., near the Adam’s parking lot at 9:45 for a 10 a.m. tour. The Milford Bank will supply water and treats.

The tour will be led by long-time Woodmont resident Katie Murphy, author of “Woodmont on the Sound.” The event is free, although donations will be accepted.

For more information, call Barbara Ortoleva at (203) 874-0035 or visit milfordhistoricalsociety.org.
