Relay For Life of Milford 2015 is Sept. 12 and 13 at Jonathan Law High School, from 1 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
The overnight walk-a-thon to benefit the American Cancer Society unites the community in the fight against cancer. Since holding its first relay 12 years ago, Relay For Life of Milford has raised over $1,000,000.
“While we’re raising much needed funds, we’ll also continue raising awareness of cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and patient support,” organizers said. “Since we’ve all been touched by cancer, this is an opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate those who’ve survived, remember those who we’ve lost and fight back against this disease.”
Teams of relayers camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track. This year over 40 teams with over 500 participants have registered. As of Labor Day Milford Relay raised over $41,000.
There will be food, entertainment and games. The public is invited.
