Saint Ann Parish, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, is accepting registrations for SALT — Saint Ann Learns Together — its religious education program for people for all ages.
The program kicks off on Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. or Sunday, Sept. 20, from 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., beginning with a catered dinner.
The topic for 2015/2016 is Prayer Life. “Because prayer is so important, the church teaches us to pray often and in many ways,” organizers said.
The September session will introduce the topic of prayer and different forms of prayer: blessing and adoration, petition, intercession, thanksgiving and praise. Other topics throughout the year include the Mass; Catholic prayers and devotions including Advent; prayers during Lent, Holy Week and Easter; the Bible, including the Lord’s Prayer; and the Rosary and prayers to honor Mary.
The program runs monthly from September through late May. All children and teens participating must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also welcome are singles, couples, and seniors. There are additional classes for First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. The annual registration fee for the entire family is $50.
