The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will go into effect Jan. 1, and for many it still remains a mystery.
The Milford Public Library will host an information session on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 2:30 p.m. to explain some of the details. The presentation will be led by Trish Pearson, principle at Trish Pearson Insurance Services.
Open enrollment for The Affordable Care Act began on Oct. 1. Many of the specifics are not understood by various groups. In particular, small business owners with less than 20 employees and individuals under the age of 65 who pay for their own insurance may have questions about its implementation.
Pearson has been following the changes in this national health care law, and has written several articles that have been published in local newspapers. She will bring the latest information on rates and plans as well an overview of how the health exchanges are operating in Connecticut.
The presentation will outline the various options that will be available and will explain the new entitlements that the Affordable Care Act provides. There will be plenty of time for questions, and light refreshments will be served.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 203-783-3307. Registration is not necessary.
