Assault
A Hamden resident was arrested on a warrant Feb. 4 for allegedly going to the Westfield Mall in Milford and assaulting an acquaintance who was working at one of the stores there.
Police said Tahirah Armstrong, 20, was charged with assault and breach of peace for going to Forever 21 at the mall Dec. 31 and assaulting someone working in the store.
Armstrong was held in police custody on a $2,500 bond.
Interfering with police
Milford police charged a Seymour man with engaging police in a pursuit after he allegedly ignored an officer’s signal to pull over and drove onto I-95.
Police said that on Feb. 4 at about 10 p.m. they signaled for Jason Lee, 38, of Bungay Road, Seymour, to pull over as he was driving on the Boston Post Road because he reportedly drove through a red light.
Lee disregarded the officer’s lights and siren and continued onto I-95, police said.
“The vehicle eventually stopped for police. During the stop, Lee refused to comply with the officers’ efforts while being taken into custody. Lee did not have proof of insurance for the vehicle,” according to a police report.
Lee was held in police custody on $1,000 bond, charged with failure to obey a traffic control signal, distracted driving, failure to obey an officer’s signal, engaging police in pursuit, carrying no insurance, and interfering with police.
Protective order
Milford police arrested Eric Kuba, 32, of Milford on Feb. 2 after they received a complaint regarding his allegedly sending unwanted text messages and making a phone call to his former spouse.
Investigation led to the arrest of Kuba who is accused of violating two protective orders and a restraining order prohibiting him from having any contact with the former spouse.
He is charged with two counts of violating a protective order and criminal violation of a restraining order.
Bond was set at $1,000 for court on Feb. 3.
Larceny
Milford police took custody of Henry Liu, 24, of Milford on Feb. 3 after they concluded an investigation into a December 2015 complaint regarding an employee theft that occurred at Diamond Elite Executives located on New Haven Avenue. Police accuse Liu of taking several checks totaling $3,739 from his former employer and cashing them.
Liu is charged with third-degree larceny and third-degree forgery.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on March 3.
Threatening
Milford police arrested Jon Provost, 30, of Milford on Feb. 4 after they received a complaint regarding threats made involving a Jepson Drive resident.
Investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Provost who is accused of threatening to harm a companion. Provost is charged with second-degree threatening.
Bond was set at $5,000 for court on Feb. 4.
Larceny
A woman working as a home health aide in Milford was arrested Feb. 7 for allegedly stealing $33,000 from the elderly resident she was caring for.
Sherry Farley, 43, of North Haven was arrested on a warrant and charged with larceny and forgery.
Police said they received a complaint in December regarding checks that were taken from the elderly Milford resident. Police investigated and found that Farley had been hired by the victim as a private home health aide and worked at the victim’s home for six months.
Farley allegedly took about 23 personal checks from the victim and cashed them at area banks, for a total of about $33,000.
Farley was released from police custody on her promise to appear in court March 3.
Larceny
Milford police took custody of Chuck Jammal, 28, of Derby on Feb. 7 after they concluded an investigation into an October 2014 complaint regarding the shoplifting of six cases of Red Bull from the Stop & Shop located at East Town Road.
Investigation revealed that two male suspects entered the store, took six cases of Red Bull drinks and left the store without paying for them. Jammal and the second suspect were identified through similar investigations in other towns, resulting in warrants being issued for their arrests.
Jammal is charged with sixth-degree larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on March 3.
No information was released regarding the second suspect.
Car theft
Milford police took custody of Darris Stowers, 32, of Stratford on Feb. 7 after they concluded an investigation into a July 2014 complaint regarding a car theft outside a Lester Street residence.
Police say the vehicle was located in Bridgeport with parts missing. Investigation identified Stowers as a suspect in the theft, which resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
Stowers is charged with third-degree larceny and was released on a promise to appear in court on March 3.
