Sherry Farley has been charged with stealing checks from her employer and cashing them.
A woman working as a home health aide in Milford was arrested Feb. 7 for allegedly stealing $33,000 from the elderly resident she was caring for.
Sherry Farley, 43, of North Haven was arrested on a warrant and charged with larceny and forgery.
Police said they received a complaint in December regarding checks that were taken from the elderly Milford resident. Police investigated and found that Farley had been hired by the victim as a private home health aid and worked at the victim’s home for six months.
Farley allegedly took about 23 personal checks from the victim and cashed them at area banks, for a total of about $33,000.
Farley was released from police custody on her promise to appear in court March 3.
