A Classic New England tradition will take place during the 13th Annual Downtown Milford Lamplight Stroll on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6.
Visitors can enjoy a nostalgic experience during this popular event that celebrates the holiday season. Holiday-themed activities will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and again from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
This is a family-friendly event presented by the Downtown Milford Business Association and sponsored by Star 99.9. Passports to savings, which enter participants into raffles, can be stamped any time at local participating shops from Dec. 5 to 13.
Downtown Milford’s shops, spas and salons will greet visitors with refreshments, holiday cheer and holiday shopping opportunities.
There also will be free horse and carriage rides, holiday carolers, the Christian Cornerstone Choir, the Senior Center Chorale Group, the Creative Movements Dance Company, Joe LaDore leading holiday sing-alongs, Milford Ghost Walks, Santa’s arrival via train, and more.
Some lucky shopper will win a gift basket — worth hundreds of dollars — filled with gift certificates, goodies, surprises and treats from downtown businesses.
Beginning Thanksgiving weekend, visitors can pick up a passport to savings at any participating Lamplight Stroll shop or business. Those collecting stamps from all participating business by Saturday, Dec. 13 will be eligible to enter a drawing to win a holiday basket.

4 p.m. Meet Santa as he arrives on Metro North at the Milford stop, then stroll with him into the Milford Center for the Arts, where visitors will be entertained with a scene with Santa and the full cast from the upcoming Pantochino Productions play “Christmas at Santa Claus Station.”
5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Free horse and carriage rides around the Green with Mrs. Santa serving her North Pole cookies.
