Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc., a professional non-profit theater company, is accepting registration for its Pantochino Teen Theatre production of “Xanadu Jr.” to be performed in late February.

Pantochino’s Teen Theatre is designed to give young actors, age 13 and up, the opportunity to learn and work with Theatre professionals in creating a fully realized musical production. The program is under the direction of Bert Bernardi and Jimmy Johansmeyer with musical direction by Justin Rugg.

“Xanadu Jr.” is a one-act version of the pop musical by Douglas Carter Beane with music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic musical starring Olivia Newtown-John, “Xanadu Jr.” follows the journey of a beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens to Vero Beach in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist. The hysterical comedy features pop tunes such as “Evil Woman,” “Magic,” “Have You Never Been Mellow” and many more.

Pantochino Teen Theatre begins Saturday, Dec. 27 and continues every Saturday through February. Rehearsals are held at Pantochino Studios in the former St. Ann School in Milford. The performances on Feb. 28 and March 1, will be at the Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford.

“Every young actor who registers gets a part in the show,” said Bernardi. “It’s an up-lifting, spirited show with many roles.”

Those interested must register before Dec. 1. More information and registration forms are available online at pantochino.com or call Pantochino at 203-937-6206.
