The Milford Historical Society will be open every Saturday and Sunday in September and the first two weekends in October, including the Monday of Columbus Day, Oct. 13. Hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Suggested donation is $5 for three-house tours.
The historical society is located at 34 High Street.
The current exhibit is “Through the Looking Glass: Celebrating Early Milford Families,” and there is a permanent display of Native American artifacts, many of which date back thousands of years.
In honor of Milford’s 375th Anniversary there is also an exhibit of how the town commemorated earlier town celebrations. New this year is a Victorian parlor furnished through the generosity of local families.
People also can take a stroll through the herb gardens and enjoy the bounty and blossoms of the plants in late summer. The gardens are tended by the Milford Garden Club and the society’s Herbcrafters group.
