Movie night — Monthly Family Movie Nights are beginning. The United Church of Christ in Devon announces that on the third Friday of each month at 6 p.m. they will host a movie. Each month a different full-length feature film will be shown. The movies are current and family friendly. This month’s feature film on Friday, Sept. 19 is Heaven is for Real. Doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner is 6 to 7 p.m. and includes a hot dog, chips, dessert, beverage and unlimited fresh popped popcorn. Dinner is $6, ages 3-5 $3, under 3 is free. The movie follows and is free.

Irish Festival — The ninth annual Milford Irish Festival will be Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20 in downtown Milford. Saturday will be the full festival with Irish music, dancing, culture, food and drink, plus Irish wares for sale. Admission is $5 Friday and $12 Saturday. A two-day pass is $15. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. The festival takes place at the Fowler Field Rotary Pavilion, behind the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue.

St. Mary’s Carnival — St. Mary’s Carnival at 72 Gulf Street will take place Friday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 21: Friday, 6 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 1 to 11 p.m., with fireworks at 10 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. There will be food, baked goods, 50/50 raffles, live music, car raffle and more. Golf tournament — The first Jonathan Law Girls Basketball Golf Tournament will take place Sept. 20 at Orange Hills Country Club. There will be fun, golf and BBQ to support the Jonathan Law Girls Basketball team. Check in is at 11:30 a.m.. with a 1 p.m. start. The cost is $500 per foursome. Free 375th concert — The Milford Arts Council celebrates Milford’s 375th with a free concert on the Green with Tuxedo Junction Saturday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. Bring chairs, blankets, a picnic dinner and listen to the 18 piece band. For information visit milfordarts.org.
Uganda run — A run/walk is set for Sept. 20 at Foran High School to raise money for clean water in Africa. There will also be a half-mile kids’ fun run, and each participants gets a small prize. Registration will be from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. A Kids Fun Run will start at 8:30, and the main race/walk will start at 9 a.m. The route runs through the Morningside area, along the shoreline. Pre-registration is $25; $15 for youths age 18 and under, and $5 for the fun run. Those who pre-register will get a T-shirt with sponsors’ names listed. Band conference — The Jonathan Law High School band will host a musical arts conference Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Jonathan Law High School football field, 20 Lansdale Avenue. Gates open at 6 p.m. Admission is $10, students and seniors $7. Local high school marching bands will compete at the conference. There will be food and raffles.

YMCA Fun Run — Join the Milford Prevention Council and The Woodruff Family YMCA’s Superhero 5k Fun Run and Family Day at 631 Orange Avenue in Milford on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is family friendly and all ages are welcome to participate in a 5K race and a 1K obstacle course that will challenge all kids, aged 17 and under. There will be food trucks, local businesses, face painting, a DJ, costume parade and contest, real life Superheroes and more.
