The Milford Recreation Department is accepting application for referees and scorekeepers for its 2014-15 Youth Basketball League season.
To be considered for a referee position, you must be at least 21 years of age and have an extensive knowledge of the rules of basketball.Scorekeepers are eligible at 15 years of age and must have a strong knowledge of the game of basketball.
Referees are responsible for obtaining their own referee jersey, black slacks and whistle. Referees receive $20 to $25 dollars per game. Officials are typically two-man crews and are typically scheduled to work a minimum of two games per evening, although a minimum number of games is never guaranteed.
It is expected that scorekeepers know how to keep a scorebook. They will be additionally trained to operate the clock and maintain playing time statistics.
Scorekeepers receive $8.70 ($9.15 on 1/1/15) per game and are typically scheduled to work a minimum of two games per evening.
Both scorekeeper and referee applications should be submitted with a cover letter that includes a description of your basketball experience.

In order to be considered for either position referees and scorekeepers must attend the mandatory introduction meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20. Scorekeepers will meet in the Parsons Complex Gymnasium at 5:30pm, and referees will meet in Conference Room C (second floor) at 6:30 p.m.
