A machinery fire at El Dorado Tool created a large amount of smoke Tuesday morning.
Fire officials said they got a call at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday about a machinery fire at El Dorado Tool at 336 Boston Post Road.
“The fire was out before our arrival, but it had set off the fire alarm and the building had quite a bit of smoke in it,” said Fire Department Spokesman Greg Carman. “We set our fans to clear out the smoke, reset the fire alarm and used gas meters to check for any evidence of carbon monoxide.”
The fire was contained to a single machine. The machinery is very expensive, however, and firefighters could not estimate the cost of the damage.
There were no injuries reported and the Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause.
