Prepared childbirth class

Held Saturdays, 9:30-2:30, July 19 and 26; Sept. 13 and 10; Nov. 1 and 8. Classes are designed to give the expectant mom and her birth partner options and coping skills for labor and birth; includes tour of the Family Childbirth Center.

Register around 28th week of pregnancy; wear comfortable clothes and bring two pillows, lunch/snack, $150/couple. Registration required: 203-876-4140.

 

Breastfeeding class

Class covers basic breastfeeding management through discussion and two short videos Thursdays, 7-9 p.m. Aug. 21, Oct. 16 and Dec. 18. Cost is $20/couple. Registration required: 203-876-4140.

 

Young Parent Program

Free childbirth class taught by a registered nurse for women under age 22 offered in six-week sessions. Sessions include lamaze, nutrition, understanding prenatel issues, breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, baby care, family planning and post partem factors. Alzheimer’s: first Monday, monthly, 6:30 p.m.

Breast cancer support, meets first Wednesday, monthly, 6-7:30 p.m., 203-876-4000.

Caring Network Grieving: third Wednesday, monthly, 7 p.m.

Epilepsy: second Monday, monthly, 7 p.m.

Stronger Together, a group for the parents and caregivers of children and young adults with medical complexities: second Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Lupus: third Thursday, monthly, 6:30 p.m.

Multiple sclerosis: second Saturday, 1:30 p.m.

 

OCD support group

Free obsessive compulsive disorder support group, meets the first and third Thursday of the month, 3-4 p.m., 3rd floor conference room, Connecticut Mental Health Center/CNRU, 34 Park St., New Haven.
