Playing manager Cherrie Giambra and the Yankees in Milford Junior Major League’s Rookie Division is never an easy task, but playing them short handed as the Braves had to do makes it even tougher.
The Yankees were led by their 8U Tournament trio of Ryan Giambra, Matthew Galligan and Jackson Grzywacz, who were backed up by Alexander Bludevich, Joseph Bossie, James Carney, Michael Finney, Christain Galligan, Austin Jennings, Matthew Kwolek and Derrick Wilder.
The well-coached Yankees played a crisp and clean game and displayed great sportsmanship throughout the contest.
The Braves were led at the plate and in the field by Tournament Team member William LeCuyer, who had three hits played solid defense.
Also contributing at the plate were Michael Smith, Ruby Moretti and Luis Lozada.
Defensively, James Cavallo, Caleb Jordan and Matthew Sissick played well.
The game ball was awarded to LeCuyer. The Braves will be in action on Friday, June 13, vs the Marlins at Bernard Field with a 6:30 p.m. start. They play again on Saturday, June 14, vs the Nationals at Conklin Field with a 4:30 p.m. start.
