Ethel B. Stannard, age 94, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Loring Stannard for over 50 years, died on Tuesday, June 3.
Mrs. Stannard was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 8, 1919 to the late Albert and Sarah Wells Blakeslee.
Mrs. Stannard enjoyed camping with her family and helped establish National Camping Travelers, a Masonic Camping Organization in 1966. Mrs. Stannard was a member of the Odd Fellows and of the Rebekah Lodge in Stratford. She was also very active in the DeMolay Mothers Club for many years.
Survivors include her children: Loring ‘Larry’ Stannard and fiancé Jane Rickel of Shelton, Kenneth and Michelle Stannard of Orange, six grandchildren: Matthew Stannard (Andi), Daniel Stannard, Cynthia Parker (Bob), Jennifer Stannard, Jacqueline Nelson (Scott), Sherry Coulombe (Donald) and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stannard is predeceased by five siblings.
Friends may call on Friday, June 6th from 5:00PM-8:00PM in The Gregory F Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30PM. Interment will take place on Saturday at 10:00AM in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
