Pompi Dellipoali of Milford passed away peacefully Friday May 9, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband to Louise (Zaccagino) Dellipoali.
Pompi was born on December 14, 1924 to the late Louis and Margaret Dellipoali in Stamford, CT.
A 1942 graduate of Stamford High School, Pompi served with pride and honor in the United States Army during WW II. After the war he worked at Sealtest Dairy in Springdale, CT for 20 years until they closed the plant and then Clairol in Stamford, CT for 17 years until he retired.
A proud and patriotic man, Pompi was also an avid sports fan, and was especially passionate about the New York Mets, Jets, and Rangers as well as UCONN Women’s basketball.
Pompi was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife Louise of 64 years, he is survived by his three children, Kathleen Arva and her husband Ed; Janet Dellipoali and Joseph and his wife Catherine; four grandchildren, David Sullo and wife Sari; Jeffery Sullo and fiancée Kathleen; Stacy Barbieri and husband Jack and Lauren Dellipoali; and four great grandchildren; Jonathan and Kathryn Sullo and Anthony and Madalynn Barbieri.
He was predeceased by his six brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford, CT 06460. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
