On the job as manager of the Consignment Shop at the Milford Senior Center, Jo Jockel is a master in the gift shop field.
Prior to managing the center’s shop, Jockel operated a gift department at T.J. Max for 14 years, and then she owned the Gift Galley in Milford for as many years.
The gift shop at the center offers clothing for women including shoes, pocketbooks, scarves and gloves in many sizes, styles and colors. A jewelry case displays traditional and trendy earrings, necklaces and rings.
There’s also an array of men’s shirts, jackets, sport coats and suits. Jockel is fastidious in the acceptance of items to be consigned, making sure customers have choice selections in all items for sale.
Jockel also offers a variety of glassware, vases, paintings, toys and a large stock of CD’s, DVD’s and books. Items are donated and accepted on consignment.
Income received from the shop is donated to the center. Items on consignment are divided equally between the center and the consignor.
The shop is open to the public Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
